Sacraments
Generally speaking, sacraments (Holy Baptism, Holy Eucharist, confirmation, ordination, marriage, reconciliation, and unction) are outward and visible signs of God’s inward and spiritual grace. Within each and every individual, there already resides the love of God and by partaking in the sacraments sins are forgiven, minds enlightened, hearts stirred, and wills strengthened. The Church does not own the sacraments, but has the privilege of assisting in distributing them.
God is not limited to working through the sacraments alone in order to share God’s grace, but the sacraments are the tried and trusted ways God reaches out to us and they sustain the Christian hope. The sacraments are available to everyone, so if you have questions or are thinking about engaging in any of them, please talk with any of St. Paul’s priests.
