Need help with rent, utility bills, or food? We know that emergencies happen—whether it’s a job loss, illness, personal loss, or other unforeseen issue. St. Paul’s Lazarus Ministry provides Christian hospitality to lessen the physical and psychological suffering of our neighbors in the City of Alexandria by helping them overcome financial hardship.
The mission of St. Paul’s Lazarus Ministry is to provide emergency financial assistance, food bags, and counseling to residents in the City of Alexandria. We serve the working poor, homeless, disabled, and those who are experiencing unexpected hardship. We strive to always treat our clients with dignity and respect, maintain an attitude of kindness and support, be patient and willing to listen, provide comfort to those in mental or physical pain, and be open to ideas for improvement from both volunteers and clients.
If you need financial assistance, please come in person to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (228 S. Pitt St., Alexandria, VA 22314) – Tuesday mornings (doors open at 7:30 a.m.; lottery is run at 8:00 a.m. to determine who may be helped that day).
